THE SECRET GARDEN, a new play by Emer Heatley based on the book by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
When Fran and his younger cousins stumble upon an attic in their grandmother’s house, they begin to wonder why they have never been here before and what secrets it might hold. Among the things they find, some never before seen photos of their beloved grandfather, as well as some other bits and bobs. But when young Gerald starts to feel frightened in this dark and unfamiliar place, they look for a book that might console him and the smallest cousins. Finding an old copy of The Secret Garden, they think reading it might cheer them up, but soon find themselves gripped by the story of Mary Lennox, Colin, Dickon and the others. Not only do they read the story, but they begin to create and become the characters they are reading about, and even the garden itself. This is a night that they won’t forget in a hurry.
DADA Youth Theatre is delighted to return to Loose End @ The Civic to share this story with you.
Suitable for all ages, the show will run for two nights only, May 26th and 27th at 8.15pm.
