Title: The Dublin Story Slam – Community inspired Storytelling Workshop
Date: June 27th
Time: 2-4pm
A free storytelling workshop with one of Dublin’s longest-running storytelling nights.

This month as we gear up for our Story Slam at The Civic on July 8th,  we’re looking for stories inspired by the theme, COMMUNITY. Tell us about a time you stood out from the crowd before finding a way to fit in. Stories of needing help, finding yourself stuck and getting help from a group of friends, family or total strangers. From growing up in a tight-knit neighbourhood to moving into a brand-new one, creating your own circle of friends to growing your social network online. Or maybe you found your community in a club—from school clubs to sports clubs, music scenes or knitting nights. Wherever and whatever community you’ve ever been part of, we’d love to hear your story.

To help you get started, you’re invited to take part in a a two hour storytelling workshop.  We’ll have teas & coffees and plenty of treats too to get the creative juices flowing and have a laugh along the way. We’ll help you identify a story you can share with confidence, show you how to structure it in a way that makes sense and help you deliver your story. Silly, serious, sad or surprising—your story can be about anything as long as it’s true and personal and inspired by a COMMUNITY that means something to you.

Workshop attendees will then be invited to share these stories at our COMMUNITY inspired Story Slam at Civic Theatre on July 8th. Sign up to attend for free now and we’ll help you find, develop and deliver a personal story that celebrates what your Community means to you.
