Stair, is the hilarious, new interactive show from High Rock Productions. A dusty box of ancient artifacts transports us back in time to meet a host of colourful characters from hunter-gatherers, scholars and monks, Vikings and Normans, to revolutionaries and romantics. Performed in accessible Irish, this physical theatre show tells the story of Ireland through the various tribes who’ve settled here. It explores the origin of the different people who’ve come to call this island home in the past, and encourages us in a fun, innovative way to appreciate and respect diverse culture and tradition in the present.
High Rock Productions present Stair, a new interactive show, as part of The Civic’s Arts in Education programme for children from 4th – 6th Class (10-12 years) to explore various characters in History stories and engage with elements of theatre making and performance this October.
CALLOUT TO PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS with keen interest in HISTORY & DRAMA with two senior classes collaborating with High Rock Productions
STAIR, pre-show workshops touring to primary schools on 6th, 7th & 8th October 2026 at a time to suit your school.
Sean & Niall McDonagh will facilitate drama-led workshops with games & play in Irish with two classes of max. 25/30 children in 3 local primary/national schools from the area of South Dublin. These 60-90mins workshops with the participating children will explore 2/3 stories and present elements of these stories to their peers.
The workshop cost is €6 per child and includes a Teacher’s pack provided to the school as a resource ‘go hiontach’ with classroom activities, drama games, stories outlined with theatre making toolkit ideas.
**Please note by participating in these workshops the school should be available to attend the theatre for the Stair show (FREE ADMISSION) for their classes on Wednesday 13th October 2006
