Parvathi Jayaram
Parvathi Jayaram is a Dublin-based multidisciplinary artist and program producer with a decade of experience specializing in Mohiniyattam, one of the eight classical dance forms of India. Accredited as a B-Grade Artist by Doordarshan, India’s national public broadcaster, she continues to train in Mohiniyattam under Smt. Vinaya Narayanan in the repertoire of Padmashri Guru Bharati Shivaji, and has deepened her Indian theatre training by completing Phases 1 and 2 of Navarasa Sadhana under Guru G Venu. Her practice brings classical dance into dynamic conversation with theatre and cross-disciplinary art forms. Deeply engaged with the Irish performing arts landscape, Parvathi serves as the Membership Officer at Dance Ireland and is the Curator and Director of Chalanam, a movement arts festival bridging South Asian and contemporary disciplines. She is the co-founder of Parallel Arts, a multidisciplinary duo exploring the intersections of Mohiniyattam, theatre, and Western contemporary music composition and vocal performance. Driven by a passion for community building and arts administration, she is also the founder of Idhayā – Haven for Performing Arts, through which she curates workshops, produces events, and fosters creative collaborations across Ireland and India.
Alongside her artistic practice, she holds a background in Software Engineering, a certification in Arts Management, and has led cultural research and event production with organizations like Rajangana and SPIC MACAY Ireland. Her work has been recognized through the Dance Ireland Residency Award and the Dublin Fringe Festival’s Artist at Work program.
