The piece is a hybrid between stand-up comedy and theatrical one man show. A memoir, Brendan takes us through life-changing events; from growing up an only child on the Northside of Dublin, to working as a microbiologist in Iraq, from beating addiction, to finally finding himself as a comedian, actor and creative entrepreneur.
The title, Shoot My Dog refers to his very successful business as an award winning photographer and pet advocate. Over an hour, Brendan enacts how he juggled his journey down amazing and dark roads, in Dublin of the ’80’s and ’90’s. Shoot My Dog originated from the ‘Under My Bed’ charity event in aid of
Barnardos in Smock Alley Theatre in 2015 as the short piece ‘Knocks on the Floor’ , following which Brendan began to look back into events of his past.
Please join us for an original, funny and heartwarming evening which may change the way you look at your own life.
