Set in the Deep South of America, the Musical ‘Parade’ dramatizes the 1913 trial of Jewish factory manager Leo Frank who was accused and convicted of assaulting and murdering a thirteen-year-old employee, Mary Phagan. The trial, sensationalized by the media, aroused anti-Semitic tensions in Atlanta and the U.S. State of Georgia. Patriotism, Bigotry, Racism and Love are the core themes which are all vividly portrayed both dramatically and musically with writing that won a Tony Award for best original score.
