Miracle on 34th Street (1994)

Kriss Kringle (Richard Attenborough) steps in as a replacement when Cole’s Department Store’s original Father Christmas gets too drunk to continue. Kriss is a resounding success with the children. This doesn’t please Victor Landbergh (Joss Ackland) of Shopper’s Express, the main rival to Cole’s who bribes the drunk “Santa” to accuse Kriss of attacking him. Kriss ends up in court as the centre of a debate over whether Father Christmas really exists or not.

Meanwhile Susan (Mara Wilson), the daughter of the supervisor at Cole’s has asked Kriss Kringle for a virtually impossible Christmas present – a house, a father, and a brother.
