This week our artist collaborators were in Scoil Mhuire Girls National School with Wild Weeds.

Wild Weeds is a series of animation and drawing workshops that explores biodiversity in your own playground! It includes a local nature trail to spark interest in the world around us. Learning about biodiversity and why it’s important. Discovering what makes each plant different and beautiful by drawing them. Doing what scientists do, by collecting and naming them in a notebook. The children worked with the artists to create an exciting animation to be screened at the school and on Culture Night 2023.

As part of Ready, Steady, SHOW! The Civic’s ongoing programme of work for children and young people.
Collaborators: Fergal Brennan and Brendan Kearney.

Kindly supported by Arts Council Ireland and South Dublin County Council.
