We are delighted to announce that Yvonne Brennan will be performing in Songs From the Swans at Coole at The Civic on Wednesday, 17th June 2015. Yvonne is replacing Kathleen Tynan who had to pull out for health reasons.

Irish-born, Yvonne gained her early experience performing in Dublin’s theaters, winning many singing contests – including the Dennis O’Neal Medal. She studied at Dublin’s College of Music and later continued studies in London on a grant from Guinness Mahon & Company.

For six seasons she was leading soprano for Jury’s Irish Cabaret, and took part in three major coast-to-coast tours of the USA and Canada. Among her performance credits are: The Pirates of Penzance, H.M.S. Pinafore, The Sound of Music, Carousel, La bohème, Riders to the Sea, Peter Grimes, The Merry Widow, Die Fledermaus, Zazà, The Rose of Castille, and The Pilgrim of Mecca.

She has appeared with the Irish Operatic Repertory Co. of Cork at Dublin’s Gaiety and Olympia Theatres, and with the Irish Radio Orchestra and Concert Orchestra. She has also broadcast on the BBC and PBS, and performed with the Scottish Opera, Dublin Grand Opera and the Wexford Festival Opera.

Yvonne met her husband, Richard Crist, at the Wexford Opera, moved to New York City, and shortly after the birth of their first son, Patrick, fulfilled a childhood dream of playing the role of Eliza in My Fair Lady. Not only did she enjoy the opportunity of co-starring with the late British TV star Tony Anholt, and international film and theater star Maximilian Schell, but did so in Munich, Vienna, Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag and Antwerp to unanimous praise from the European press. Yvonne lives in Athens, OH, with her husband and their two sons, Patrick and Daniel.
