THE ONLY ONES
From Wicklow Town, Denis Morrissey aged 15 and his brother Ed aged 14, play together as a young duo called ‘The Only Ones’.
Denis is on vocal and bass with Ed on guitar. They have been writing and performing their own songs since 2020.
They successfully auditioned for and performed on The Late Late Toy Show, 2023 and were selected for Music Generation’s Mentoring Programme. Leslie Dowdall of ‘In Tua Nua’ fame was the music teacher in Ed’s school and has high praise for Ed’s guitar skills.
Most recently, The Only Ones played their own show in Mermaid Arts Centre in Bray as part of Culture Night 2025. They have played numerous outdoor gigs, including Kaleidoscope 2025; Garageland Galaxyz at Cruinniú na nÓg 2025 at the Samuel Beckett Civic Centre; SubSounds Youth Music Festival – Main Stage TU Dublin 2025 having taken part in the Open Mic in 2024; Wicklow Regatta Festival 2023/’24/’25 (having won the festival’s ‘Wicklow’s Got Talent’ competition in 2023); Bray Bandstand as part of the Bray Summer Festival; “Wild Fest” (2023 & 2024), Sunbeam House, Bray; Wicklow Town Library for Culture Night 2024. Earlier this year, The Only Ones headlined the Noise Music ‘The Night Belongs to Us’ sessions, in the Tallaght Civic Theatre and Lucan.
