Cassiopeia Winds is a group of five exceptional musicians whose sheer joy in performing together is contagious. They have picked a delightful programme of French wind quintet music chosen to appeal to all age groups. This is music to lift the spirit and transport the audience for an evening; awaken curiosity through discovering something new and appealing.
The musicians aim to make their audience fall in love with the wonderful sound world and instrumental elixir, the tonal magic potion that is the wind quintet! Member of the group introduce each piece in the programme, engaging with and developing a rapport with their audience, drawing them in so that they feel almost like a sixth member of the group.
“His central Divertissement features some lovely solos not least Cormac Ó hAodáin’s smoothly resonant horn. Pat O’Kelly, The Irish Independent
“Cassiopeia Wind Quintet were in concert in St lberius Church yesterday… probably one of the most enjoyable concerts I’ll hear all year! The ensemble sound was varied and spectacular at all times – the music seamlessly moving between solos, duos, trios, quartets, and at times had the resonance of a full orchestra. My attention did not stray for one moment. If they were here again next week, I’d be there!” Audience member writing/reviewing on Facebook after a concert in Wexford.
