Theatre Productions Europe are returning to the Civic with their ever-popular Viennese Strauss Gala
The music recreates the romance of a bygone age of glamorous soirées glittering ballrooms, jaunty polkas and wonderful Waltzes. The show features highlights from some of the great operettas & music of the Strauss family along with Kalyan and Lehar including: Die Fledermaus, Gypsy Baron The Merry Widow Blue Danube waltz and a rousing finale with the Radetzky march.
The European Orchestral Ensemble will accompany four soloists from leading Opera companies including Opera North, Welsh National Opera and featuring Maria Kesselman star of West End’s “Phantom” and BBC’s Friday Night is Music Night. “Beautiful costumes, excellent voices and some fine acting too” perfectly describes a production cleverly staged and choreographed with authentic costumes to evoke memories of a bygone age – which will appeal as much to the romantic as the aficionado.
