Now in its fourth year, the Red Line Poetry Competition is open to residents of Ireland and attracts many poets every year. The winners of the 2016 poetry competition will be announced and invited to read their poems at this annual prize-giving ceremony. The event will include a reading by special guest, competition judge Michael O’ Loughlin.

Michael O’Loughlin was born in Dublin in 1958 and studied at TCD. He has published five collections of poetry, most recently Another Nation: New and Selected Poems (1996) and In This Life (2015), as well as numerous essays, translations, and reviews. He has been Writer in Residence in Galway and Writer Fellow at TCD, and is a member of Aosdana. He is active as a teacher of Creative Writing, currently with the University of Western New England, MA, USA.
