The Bad Daters and the Good Cheaters opens at The Civic on Weds. 26th Jun and runs until Sat 30th in our studio, following a sell-out 2 week run in the Viking Theatre earlier this year. Described as an hilarious comedy double-bill in two one-act plays, we had a chat with the actors in advance of the show- Meet Sarah Lafferty.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself? Where did you grow up?
I was born in Sligo, but I grew up in Mayo. I always enjoyed performing, so acting just felt like a natural fit for me.

Tell us about your interest in the arts and writing/ performing? How did it come about?
At the age of seven, I played a princess in an Irene Fleming production at the Hawk’s Well theatre in Sligo and I never looked back. My parents also love the arts, so I got lots of encouragement.

Where have you performed before?
I have performed in theatres all over Ireland, at Edinburgh Fringe, on Broadway and in the West End.

What can Tallaght audiences expect from this show?
Dublin playwright Derek Murphy has written a comedy double-bill which showcases fascinating characters that are deeply flawed and great humour comes from their struggles.

Tell us a random fact about yourself?
I had always wanted to play tennis, so a few years ago, I finally joined a tennis club and got some lessons and now I could probably play a tennis player in a movie (if the scenes are heavily edited)!

What’s next for you?
I have my own theatre company called Felix Culpa. I’m on the lookout for new writing because I love producing plays that have never been seen before.
