Local group – Stagecraft musical society present Legally Blonde Junior The Musical at The Civic this weekend. We got to know the cast in advance of the show! Next up it’s Colin…
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself, where you grew up etc?
I’m a performer for Stagecraft musical society, my main passion is Singing, but I still love the Acting and Dancing areas as well! I was born in New York City on Staten Island and moved here at around the age of 4, and I’ve lived in Clondalkin ever since.
Tell us about your interest in the performing arts?
I’ve always been interested in the performing arts, I took up every opportunity that came up in school, or in local youth performance which has definitely helped me in the long run, I just love the idea of getting in the stage and people recognising you for your talents.
What is your role in the upcoming Stagecraft musical?
I am playing the role of “Warner Huntington” in the upcoming production of Legally Blonde.
What is your favourite bit about performing?
Its a hard question to answer but… I’d have to say my favourite part of the performing arts is the self expression, you get to take a glimpse into a different characters life, and act like them, it’s quite interesting as your mannerisms, stance etc are very different from most other characters.
Would you like a career on stage or behind the scenes?
I would love a career on stage in the future, working at places like Broadway or West end is a true goal, but even if I just got to make a living by performing for audiences and making people happy, would make me happy as well.

Stagecraft Musical Group was set up in 2017 as a summer musical project by South Dublin County Partnership, in conjunction with Crosscare Youth Service Clondalkin, and supported by Lucan and Clondalkin Credit Union. The aim was to offer young people aged 14-18 in South Dublin free, high quality training in singing, dancing and acting. This weekend at the Civic, they stage ‘A Night at the Musicals’ bringing you on an epic journey through some of the most well loved musicals of our time with unforgettable scenes and songs from Matilda, Aladdin, High School Musical and Sister Act. A show which promises to entertain the entire family.
