The Bold Step is A story about girls who grew up in Ireland in the early 2000s. After conversations with the women who raised them, Freshly Ground Theatre creates a light-hearted, nostalgic exploration of the nature of memory, and the changing definitions of girlhood, womanhood and motherhood.
Your input in these workshops will help create the theatre presented in the Civic in November. It is hoped to foster an interest in inter-generational theatre in the community.
A jam-packed morning filled with drama games and exercises, all about memory. This free workshop will serve as a fun introduction to the world of theatre for anyone who has an interest in performing and enjoys being creative! You don’t need to bring anything, just come along!

The afternoon will be discussion-focused, tackling modern issues through the lense of drama and giving an insight into our creative process. The workshop will appeal to anyone who’d like to be involved in a creative space, or who thinks they’d like to try their hand at writing a script or making a play. No previous experience necessary!
