Director: Loveday Ingram

Loveday Ingram is a theatre director and adapter who has directed plays and musicals in the West End, for the RSC and regionally though-out the UK to great acclaim. Many of her shows have won or been nominated for awards, including having won UK Theatre Awards, TMA awards, and Irish Times award, as well as 4 Olivier Award nominations.  These include her 5-star adaptation of The Rover for the Royal Shakespeare Company, and her highly praised productions of David Hare’s The Blue Room, Gershwin’s My One and Only and Rogers and Hart’s Pal Joey for Chichester Festival Theatre, as well as Boston Marriage and Hysteria for b*spoke Theatre Company in Dublin.

She has also directed internationally, and her recent production of Baskerville by Ken Ludwig played at the National Theatre of China as part of an international tour last year. Other productions include a recent major UK tour of Fatal Attraction for ATG and Smith Brant Theatricals, Bedroom Farce at The Noel Coward, Samuel Beckett’s Rockaby for The Gate Theatre for the Beckett Centenary Festival, The Merchant of Venice for the Royal Shakespeare Company, Brian Friel’s version of The Three Sisters at Chichester Festival Theatre, as well as Insignificance and Dead Funny by Terry Johnson, When Harry Met Sally and The Blue Room at The Theatre Royal Haymarket, Tell Me The Truth About Love at the Linbury Studio at the Royal Opera House, These Sinning Lives at The Park Theatre, The Messiah at The Bush Theatre for The National Theatre of Brent, Lettuce and Lovage for Bath Theatre Royal, The British Premier of Samuel Barber’s Opera Vanessa at The Lyric Hammersmith, and a short film This Time It’s Forever which she wrote and directed and which was chosen to represent Women’s Aid internationally.

She was the original Assistant Director on the hit stage musical Mamma Mia and trained with John Barton at the Royal Shakespeare Company. She has an MA in English and Classics.
