A work in progress performance as part of Stepping Stones, a pilot program presented with Freshly Ground Theatre. This event is part of The Civic’s ongoing education programme, where students from four schools across South Dublin have participated in an 8-week series of drama, theatre, writing and performance training workshops.
Students from Sacred Heart Senior National School, Firhouse Educate Together National School, Firhouse Educate Together Secondary School, and Killinarden Community School have collaborated to devise, direct, design, and stage manage their own original pieces. The theme of “Starting Somewhere New” has guided their creative process, resulting in a unique story exchange that explores transitions and the journey of starting something new from the perspective of these primary and secondary level students. This sharing is the first step for these students into engaging with theatre as a craft and a playful form of expression.
