Join us for a special evening with Paul Lynch, author of the 2023 Booker Prize-winning novel Prophet Song.

In conversation with Belinda McKeon, Paul will reflect on his wider body of work, the inspirations behind his writing, and the impact of Prophet Song. A powerful exploration of family, resilience, and the fragility of democracy, the novel has been hailed as both urgent and timeless.This promises to be a fascinating and memorable event for all lovers of literature.

There will be ISL Interpretation at this event.

There will be a return bus service form Ballyroan Library to this event.  Bus from Ballyroan leaves at 7pm, pickup from The Civic at 9.45pm.

Paul Lynch is the author of five novels. His most recent novel, Prophet Song, won the 2023 Booker Prize. He has previously won the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year and France’s Prix Libr’à Nous for Best Foreign Novel, among other prizes. In 2024, he was appointed Distinguished Writing Fellow at Maynooth University and was elected to Aosdána, the Irish academy for the arts honouring distinguished artists. His novels have been translated into over 30 languages.

Belinda McKeon is the author of the novels Solace and Tender. She directs the MA in Creative Writing in Maynooth University.
