Older Bolder Wiser

An evening of stand up comedy and story telling.

Barbara Scully is a well known writer, author and broadcaster, who is regularly published in the press and is a familiar voice on radio, where she has a weekly slot on The Moncrieff Show on Newstalk. Her latest venture is into comedy storytelling and she is currently taking her One Woman Show, Older, Bolder, Wiser to venues around Ireland.

 ‘Older, Bolder, Wiser’ which is a combination of comedy and story telling and is a follow up to her book, ‘Wise Up’ which was published in 2022 and which was the first part of her mission to change the narrative around ageing, particularly for women.  Realising that she could make people laugh, she decided that using comedy was a great way to continue to deliver her message of positive ageing.

Barbara believes that once women are through the menopause, they arrive at a wonderful time, full of freedoms and the opportunity to do things that you have not been able to in earlier decades. “The problem is that no one tells you about it,” she says, “I was most surprised to find myself enjoying my mid to late 50s and now at 63, things just keep getting more interesting and fun.”
