Join award-winning children’s writers for a fun-filled exploration of Irish history! Meet Kate, a young girl who has to leave school and work as a maid in Lissadell House in 1913, childhood home of Countess Markievicz; plus aviators John Alcock and Arthur Brown who made the first non-stop transatlantic flight in June 1919 and landed in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland; and finally hear all about Antarctic explorer, Tom Crean, plus Albert D.J. Cashier, an Irish soldier in the American Civil War who had a very big secret! Judi, Oisín and Sarah will present their stories using photographs, illustrations, readings and drama. Their knowledge and enthusiasm will make history truly come alive!
