This June Sasha Krohn brings ‘The Weight of Shadow’, a⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️physical theatre show combining dance, mime, aerial acrobatics, and is an insight into a day of somebody struggling with mental health issues. Inspired by Sasha’s fiancée, the performance employs an evocative blend of movement to express the emotional and psychological turmoil of a psychiatric patient.

Find out more about Sasha below……

Sasha is an interdisciplinary artist based in County Wexford, Ireland, whose work spans aerial acrobatics, dance, mime, physical theatre, visual art, and music. With over 14 years of experience, Sasha’s creative journey is rooted in the art of movement and storytelling, shaped by global performance and deep collaborative practice.

He has performed across Russia, Japan, and Europe, refining his craft through both training and performances with acclaimed companies such as Punchdrunk, DV8, 45 Degrees (Cirque du Soleil) and more. His physical artistry includes a collaboration with photographer Nick Knight, contributing a striking performance to the exhibition A Beautiful Darkness and appearing in a Beats by Dre campaign.

His original work, including the evocative solo Dissemble, has been featured at TEDx, Babel Fest, and the Platonov Performance Festival—each time captivating audiences through a deeply emotional and physical language. As a choreographer, he choreographed for the National German Theater’s Let Them Eat Money, which earned praise from The New York Times

In 2024, he debuted the critically acclaimed solo piece The Weight of Shadow at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival—a five-star reviewed exploration of psychological unraveling over 24 hours. Plans are underway for a national and international tour in 2025–26, alongside a new collaborative project with Simon Gleave (Jeudi/Flabbergast Theatre/David Glass Ensemble), named “cAnarY”

Currently, he is an associate artist with Flabbergast Theatre and is working with the David Glass Ensemble on their upcoming production Holy Dirt. He is also the creator of Public Nightmares to Private Dreams, a surreal solo show exploring the tensions between dreams and distorted realities, which premiered in Berlin in 2019 and toured with ‘Serious Clowns’ (Adam Read) and their show “The Lost Wheels of Time”

Beyond the stage, he composes original soundscapes for his work and has begun developing independent music projects. His screen credits include a leading role in the short film The Dark Side of the Mind (Virgin Media), various international campaigns, and a cameo in Season 3 of Black Mirror.

Sasha’s work continues to push the boundaries of performance and perception, creating transformative experiences that resonate across cultures and mediums.
