Education at The Civic – Autumn 2025
The Civic believes in creating opportunities, meeting the needs and giving more access for all to engage with, experience and actively participate in our Arts programmes. Focused on being child-centred, encouraging student-led interactions and participants/ audience responses to our many scheduled events, workshops, presentations, live performances, shows and tours. We’re delighted to be working, partnering and co-producing with a strong network of talented professional Artists, and Theatre Companies to make and produce the highest quality of work, that supports the curriculum, and positively impacts groups and communities. We pride ourselves on providing a welcoming, safe space for all to enjoy and value the Arts.

Presented by High Rock Productions
A series of Irish Storytelling, Drama & Theatre Making, Stagecraft and Performance workshops encouraging Irish spoken word. Primary Schools Tour commences in September for 4th-6th Class.

BANG, BEAT AND BLAST
Presented by Mary Curran, Whistleblast Quartet
A primary schools tour to introduce the French horn and percussion from infants to 6th Class children. Commences in October.

A new drama initiative in partnership with The Civic Theatre, continues with 4 selected secondary schools to stage a dramatic production of the short stories on the Leaving Certificate
Literature course with a presentation at The Civic in October.
STEPPING STONES Part 2
Presented by Freshly Ground Theatre Company
This community building and young theatre making programme will engage two selected 6th Class & 1st Year groups. Commencing in Autumn 2025 with a final presentation day in April 2026.
BEHIND THE CURTAIN
Presented by Real Learning Ltd.
A fun, student-led and socially interactive ‘Theatre in Education’ workshop for 5th Year students. Groups from eight different schools will work together to explore their expectations of their Leaving Cert journey from a different perspective and in a creative way – helping them to start their journeys with greater levels of confidence.
