Belles Dad: Tim Landers

A Tralee based  Dublin native , Tim is absolutely thrilled to be making his Civic panto debut this year in the role of Belle’s Dad. He is no stranger to panto having appeared in other Irish and UK pantos such as ‘Sinbad’  at The Playhouse , Essex and  ‘Aladdin’ at Siamsa Tire Theatre , Tralee, both times as the Baddie and as one of the Ugly Sisters in his own self written version of ‘Cinderella’  at Siamsa ,  where he had a ball as Whitney Heuston Station !!! . He also appeared as the Man in the Big Red Coat  in the SFX panto ‘Santas Xmas Mystery’ some years ago where the music was written by Eurovision legend Shay Healy.

He has been  performing in musicals for over 35 years since his musical debut in ‘Seven Brides for Seven Brothers’ in Galway in 1990 . Favourite musical theatre roles include Judas , PIlate and Herod in ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ , Emcee in ‘Cabaret’ , Father in ‘Children of Eden’,  Jud Fry in ‘Oklahoma’, Judge Turpin in ‘Sweeney Todd’, Baron Bomburst in ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ to name but a few . In June 2014 Tim won the Best Comedian award in the Association of Irish Musical Theatre awards for the role of the mad German playwright Franz Leibkind in ‘The Producers’. He has also directed many musicals and he won Best Director for his production of ‘Guys and Dolls’ at the Waterford Light Opera Festival.  He was also a member of the ensemble cast of the Gate Theatre’s 2005  production ‘A View from The Bridge’, directed by Mark Brokaw, which was nominated for Best Irish Production in The Irish Times Theatre Awards.

In September 2023 Tim was cast as the main narrator /vocalist in UK production company Seven Productions touring stage show ‘Seven Drunken Nights The Story of the Dubliners’, making his West End debut at the Dominion Theatre, London in March 2024 and since then he has done three tours touring Europe, the UK and Ireland. Last winter he toured the UK and Ireland in the company’s other show ‘Fairytale of New York’ and he has now performed in over 150 shows for that company.
