From breathtaking circus and an extraordinary true story of ambition to an interactive journey through Irish history ‘as Gaeilge’ our upcoming school performances give students the opportunity to experience live theatre while exploring new stories, ideas and cultures.
Here’s what’s coming up for schools this season…
AFRONAUTS

Presented by Wake The Beast and Circus Zambia in association with The Civic as part of Dublin Fringe Festival

An all-ages, high-flying collision of circus, theatre and space adventure, Afronauts launches students into a story of dreamers, daredevils and impossible possibilities. Inspired by the extraordinary story of the Zambian Space Programme, the show combines breathtaking acrobatics, theatrical spectacle and irresistible heart in a story of hope, courage and the audacity to dream big. Created by Wake The Beast and Circus Zambia, Afronauts offers students the chance to discover a fascinating story through an exciting combination of circus and theatre.
STAIR

History comes to life in Stair, a hilarious and interactive new show from High Rock Productions. A dusty box of ancient artefacts transports students back through Ireland’s past to meet hunter-gatherers, scholars and monks, Vikings and Normans, revolutionaries and romantics. Performed in accessible Irish, this energetic physical theatre show explores the different peoples who have settled on the island throughout history and encourages students to think about culture, tradition and the diverse influences that have helped shape Ireland today.
Class Teachers with keen interest in History and Storytelling as Gaeilge. Facilitators will visit selected schools from 23rd, 24th & 25th September to collaborate with Class Teachers.Â
Scheduled in-class workshops with Teacher’s pack commence 6th, 7th or 8th Oct + show 13th Oct in Main Space €6 per child.
Workshops: €6 per student

The School Yard Band

Due to the phenomenal success of the primary schools tour in 2025 and Spring 2026 of The School Yard Band, where 3,700 children in South Dublin have engaged with these interactive concerts.
We are thrilled to partner again this year with The Mobile Music School under the direction of Shay Lally to bring The School Yard Band series of Concerts for Primary Schools as part of The Civic Education programme.
With the support of The Arts Council we can offer a fun introduction of live music performances for children with this brilliant 5 piece Brass ensemble at your school! The Mobile Music School is well established with a group of professional musicians delivering engaging, entertaining and educational programmes throughout Ireland.
The School Yard Band series of Concerts for Primary Schools will commence a mini-tour in the area of South Dublin next month!
