Culture Night at The Civic 2026

Join us at The Civic Friday 18 September for Culture Night 2026, with two fantastic FREE events celebrating new writing and live music.

TenderWRITE – Plays By & For Young People | 12pm
Discover a new voice in Irish theatre with a rehearsed reading of To Be Frank by Kyle Laing, this year’s featured play from The Civic’s TenderWRITE Young Artist Support Programme. Funny, tender and a little absurd, To Be Frank follows a down-at-heel Frankie Vedici impersonator on the final night of his career, when an unexpected knock at the door changes everything.

Eddi Reader & Alan Kelly Gang | 7.30pm
Round off Culture Night with an unforgettable evening of Irish and Scottish music as internationally acclaimed Eddi Reader joins accordion maestro Alan Kelly and his gang of acclaimed musicians. Expect captivating songs, powerful instrumentals and soaring harmonies from a group of long-time collaborators renowned for their joyous, uplifting live performances.
