Senita Appiakorang is a performer and songwriter based in Dublin and is  most noted for her  role as lead singer of neo-soul band Shookrah and Lakerama. With an academic background in music (BA Music & English- UCC, Music, Mmgmt & Sound- Coláiste Stíofan Naofa), Senita successfully launched her singing career, with her collaborative footprint encompassing performances, single releases and written collaborations with Irish household names such as Brian Deady, Jack O’Rourke, Bantum, Le Galaxie and Daithí.

Senita’s own work includes 2 ‘Future Soul’ EPs and an album with her recently disbanded cohorts Shookrah. Her resume also includes 2 EP releases as an electro-Afro House outfit called Lakerama, and is currently working on collaborations on her debut solo project, as well as part of the recently formed cross genre group ‘ X Collective’ whose recent release ‘WB’ she featured on and will be releasing their showcase album in 2022. Senita’s recent focus has also included an audio journey piece commissioned by Culture Irlandais as part of a series called ‘Deambulations’, collaborating with Irish Hip Hop names pioneer Godknows, Murli and Denise Chaila of Narolane on their recent single ‘Glory’, and co-writing an album with her peer Jess Kavanagh under their alias Sister Phoenix.
