Performed, produced and designed by a 70 strong ensemble gathered from across 19 South Dublin County schools. Tenderfoot is The Civic Theatre’s Apprentice Theatre Programme for TY students. Each year 60 young people learn what it is to write a play for the stage. Interested young people then spend two weeks with us in the summer to learn more. In Memory of Margaret, The World’s End & Burden were all written as the sun blazed during Summer 2023. Tenderfoot plays are directed by professional directors – our directors this year are Davey Kelleher, Esosa Ighodaro and Aoife Spillane Hinks. Our design teams – Set & Costume, Lighting, Music Composition & Sound Design, Film For Theatre & Production, all work under the guidance of professional mentors, designers, composers, filmmakers, production managers. Tenderfoot’s Programme Director is Veronica Coburn.
