NOISE Music and SubSounds are coming together for a special youth music showcase in The Civic on Wednesday 16th August from. The SubSounds Collective will be performing a live set, and will take the opportunity to launch their latest 5-track EP from the 2022/33 participants and to officially open the application process for the SubSounds LP and EP programmes in 2023/24.
This will be followed by the latest collaboration between NOISE Music and the and the intercultural dance platform Go Dance For Change. The collaborators will be filming a series of improvised dance videos for newly commissioned tracks by NOISE Music mentors including Asha Ari, Alicia Raye, Julia Louise Knifefist, Jess Kavanagh, Muttonhead, racecarbed, Zali, Smiley Emmanuel, Pius, and Robbie Kitt in front of a live audience. NOISE Music’s DJ Collective, NDJC, will also be there running open DJ workshops and performing live DJ sets to accompany the dancers.
This event is an opportunity for young people to find out more about the youth music and dance programmes available in South Dublin County. Anybody aged between 14 and 18 with an interest in performing or creating is encouraged to come along, meet the artists working on these programmes, and sign up to participate. Parents and families are also welcome, to see what’s on offer for young creatives in South Dublin and see some incredible live music and dance.
