ReelFlamenco as part of Red Line Book Festival 2026

ReelFlamenco brings together the rhythmic vitality of Irish traditional dance and the expressive fire of Andalusian flamenco in a bold new intercultural performance. Led by acclaimed dancers and choreographers Juan Carlos Avecilla and Louise O’Sullivan, with Louise bringing a 17-year career with Riverdance where she progressed to Principal Lead Performer, and together with members of The Rubik’s Ensemble, this exciting collaboration explores the deep connections between percussive footwork, live traditional music and emotional storytelling. Blending styles while remaining rooted in the core traditions of Irish and Spanish dance, song and music, ReelFlamenco creates a unique choreographic language, celebrating heritage, innovation and the universal power of rhythm, movement and shared musicality. 

This event is an initiative of SDCC Arts and Libraries in association with Artscope/Creative Connexions Ireland. It is funded as part of the Culture Programme for Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026.
