After the tremendous success of ‘Kinky Boots’ and ‘Young Frankenstein’ Liberties College CDETB, Bull Alley are back with the West End hit Made in Dagenham.
Music by David Arnold, lyrics by Richard Thomas, and a book by Richard Bean.
Inspired by a true story and based on the hit movie, Made in Dagenham is the uplifting new musical comedy about friendship, love and the importance of fighting for what is right. The scene is set in Essex, 1968, when Ford’s Dagenham car plant drops female workers’ pay. This was a move too far and as a result, 187 women went on strike at the factory in 1968 in protest at being downgraded to ‘unskilled’ workers. Working mum Rita O’Grady leads her friends in a battle against the mighty Ford Car company and the corrupted union supposed to protect them.
As the women’s journey grows, so does the pressure, however, these strong, determined women made history in their fight for equal pay and equal rights for all workers!
