PRESENTED AS PART OF CRUINNIU NA NÓG – 2025
Leaps and Bounds is an exciting showcase of new work created by an ensemble of students engaging through the medium of puppetry. The performance, is an exploration of belonging, identity and friendship. In the lead up to this sharing, the ensemble of young people, (age range) worked together in weekly workshops where they explored the principles of puppetry and devising a short story. As part of The Civic’s Cruinniú na nÓg program, to celebrate their creativity, they will share their work on stage in the studio! This will be followed by a post show discussion with the ensemble of students where they will reflect on their experience.
The programme was facilitated by Freshly Ground Theatre in collaboration with an ensemble young people from South Dublin. As part of this programme, Freshly Ground Theatre conducted introductory workshops for 5th classes in Scoil Maelruain Senior National School and St Aidans Senior National School, showcasing some of the puppetry that features in the performance.
