Myths have fed the Irish imagination since the dawn of time. Those who rose that Easter Monday 1916 did so at their beckoning. In 2017 we invite you to take part in the first of an exciting series of explorations at the Civic that will stimulate, surprise and move you to take up their summons to imagine and help forge a new vision of Ireland in the 21st century.

Taking as our leaping in place The Children of Lir, a story known to us all, the day begins with a dynamic retelling by the storytellers of Candlelit Tales, before participants are encouraged to renew their acquaintance with this gripping tale and perhaps discover what also lies beneath its beating wings.

This stimulating and rewarding free workshop will be led by the highly experienced Bard Team led by Ellen O’Malley Dunlop MA and is for participants over the age of 18.

As part of the Cruinniú na Cásca national day of culture, supported by Creative Ireland and South Dublin County Council.
