The Writers Room is an exciting new project taking place in The Civic in early 2018. Eight young artists aged between 18 – 23 will work with professional screen writer Ted Gannon to produce a 45 minute TV Pilot Episode.
Produced by Wartank Productions, and funded by the Arts Council, The Civic and South Dublin County Arts Office the Writers Room aims to replicate the working environment of a professional TV studio, where the young emerging artists will have the opporunity to experience the workflow and process of producing a high quality pilot TV episode under the guidance and expertise of their writing facilitator Ted Gannon.
One of the projects key aims is to have a script that has an authentic voice, that reflects young peoples mindsets and explores issues and themes that are relevant to their lives.
The project kicks off in February, and the aim is for the script to be completed by mid April with a rehearsed reading of that script to take place in the Loose End Theatre on Wednesday 18th April.
