Sweet Dreams, Mr. Heroin returns to the Loose End at The Civic before travelling to Portland Maine to perform this production for one of the biggest recovery organisations in America. A powerful moving play which tells of a father’s love and heartbreak for his addicted son Joey and a woman’s fight with addiction and prostitution as she desperately tries to be there for her daughter on the day of her First Holy Communion. ‘This is a play that takes an unflinching look at heroin abuse-subtlety is perhaps a secondary concern. Sweet Dreams, Mr. Heroin is a gruelling production which succeeds because it lets audiences experience the damages of heroin anew.’ – Irish Theatre Magazine
