Quite simply Sir Patient Fancy concerns three noblemen: Leander Fancy who seeks Lucretia Knowell. Lodwick Knowell who courts Isabella Fancy and Charles Wittmore who is having an affair with the married Lady Fancy.
But Lodwick’s mother, Lady Knowell appears to covet Leander, and Lucretia has been pledged by her mother, Lady Fancy to the simpleton Sir Credulous Easy. And then there is the troublesome presence of Lady Fancy’s husband, Sir Patient Fancy an imperious, blustery hypochondriac.
Passion, intrigue, mistaken identity and secret rendezvous culminate in a risque romp to excite the senses.
