|Reading History brings together three of the best known Irish children’s authors who will discuss their work with event facilitator, Grainne Clear.Marita Conlon-McKenna has written several acclaimed books for children but is perhaps best known for her famine trilogy Under the Hawthorn Tree, Wildflower Girl and Fields of Home.Brian Gallagher writes about ordinary children who live their lives against the backdrop of major Irish historical events. Friend or Foe, his latest title, is set in 1916.Local author Nicola Pierce has enthralled us with Spirit of the Titanic and City of Fate. Her new title, Behind the Walls, is based on the 1689 siege of Derry.
