The Cavalier Palamede, returns from his adventures to his home in Sicily only to become embroiled in a love square with a reluctant fiancée, his best friend Rodolpho and his wife Doraline. Meanwhile the usurper King attempts to force apart the heroic lover Leonides from his betrothed Palmyra setting in motion a chain of events which unearth dark family secrets for the Royal House.
