Dickie Rock is one of Ireland’s most famous sons and recognised singers. He is still as popular as ever after a career spanning over 50 years and still attracts a huge following of fans from all around the world. He has been performing and packing out venues throughout Ireland and Europe for over fifty years and is still going as strong as ever!
From 1963 to 1983, Dickie had 25 Irish hits, surpassed only by the Beatles, Elvis Presley, Cliff Richard, David Bowie and the Rolling Stones. Even after all this time, he cannot leave the stage without performing some of his number one singles, which include; ‘There’s Always Me’ (1963) and ‘From the Candy Store on the Corner’ (1964). During his time with the Miami Showband, Dickie attracted the kind of mass hysteria normally reserved for boybands like Westlife.
Dickie has no intention of slowing down and has just finished recording his new album. His autobiography has proved very popular and is still selling in many bookshops, and he has a busy Christmas season ahead, doing the thing he loves best, gigging around the country and meeting people. These are exciting times for Dickie, who has already secured a well-earned place in Irish entertainment history.
