It’s with heavy hearts we announce The Civic will be closed until at least 19th April, following the recent decision to cancel or postpone many upcoming performances due to the health and safety concerns for our audiences, staff and creative colleagues.  This is a huge blow to The Civic but we are committed to returning to normal as soon as we can. If you were booked for an event between now and then, we will be in touch soon. Please be patient with us.

COVID-19 is changing our lives in so many ways and as a not-for-profit theatre, this is not a decision we have taken lightly. Many of our patrons have asked us if there’s a way they can donate the cost of their pre-paid ticket to help support The Civic. We would be hugely appreciative if you can.

By considering a donation no matter how small – you can play your part in supporting your local theatre in these uncertain times.

Some ways to help if you were booked on a cancelled or postponed show
– Donating the full or partial amount of your ticket to The Civic Theatre Donation Scheme
– Issuing the ticket cost to a credit voucher a credit note.
