AN INVITATION TO Throw Down your Heart* (Caith Síos do Chroí)
FREE open workshop programme this Autumn for young aspiring and professional dancers led by Michael Keegan-Dolan, one of Ireland’s leading dance-makers.
You may be an experienced dancer or you may be a beginner. You may have been born in Ireland or you may have journeyed here from lands afar. But whatever your circumstance, you want to connect with other like-minded people through the universal language of music and dance.
If you’re between the age of 16 and 24 and if you feel an urge to dig deep, to move, to sound, to sing, to drum – then Michael Keegan-Dolan, would like to hear from you.
To coincide with the development of Michael’s latest work, Swan Lake – (Loch na hEala), to be previewed at The Civic, Tallaght in September before premièring in the Dublin Theatre Festival and Sadlers Wells, London), he will offer up to 20 participants the chance to go on a journey of discovery; three free workshops in which he will share his lifelong passion for dance and explore different ways that we can learn to move together better.
So if you are a dancer and find yourself forging a new life in Ireland or if you have spent all your days here looking for a journey that will inspire you, please fill in the application below telling us who you are, how you have journeyed and include a few lines expressing what inspires you to dance.
(* The title is taken from the 2008 film of the same name, where world class, Banjo player, Béla Fleck’s travels through Africa rediscovering the origins of his beloved instrument. Michael aims to create a new creation in 2017 with the same working title, Throw Down Your Heart. )
