Continuing with our series of ‘Meet the Cast’ blogs, where we find out a bit more about our panto stars. Next up It’s The Evil Queen Cruella.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself, and where you grew up?
I am 29 and always lived in Tallaght. When I am not performing I am a performing arts teacher at O’Hanlon stage school and I have my own lash extension business Lauren’s Lashes.
What is your background in performing?
I have been performing from the age of 15 professionally. I’ve danced and sang since the age of 3 before going on to training at the college of Dance. I have been doing panto from a young age and have played the princess for almost 7 years in different theatres in Dublin and in the U.K. I’m excited to be playing the villain the year and so happy to perform in The Civic.
What’s has been your career highlight to date?
I was very proud to win the nation wide search for the role of Sandy in Grease the musical. There was various rounds of auditions before the competition was broadcast by RTE. I was very honoured to be selected as there was such talent involved.
Tell us about the role you have in The Civic Panto?
I am playing The Evil Queen- Cruella D Vile who has a reputation of being the most beautiful in all the Land until Snow White shows up. She is painfully jealous of Snow White and will stop at nothing to regain her title. I am very excited to play the bad guy, better get use to the boos from the audience 🙂
Can you tell us a random fact about yourself?
I find the movie Edward Scissorhands Terrifying!!! lol
