The Challenges of Being My Best Self is a pilot Theatre in Education Workshop developed by Real Learning Ltd in a co-production with The Civic.
It has been written and designed with the input from Young People, Teachers, Guidance Counsellors, Drama Therapist, Clinicians and Youth & Engagement Community Workers.
With a cast of 4 Actors/Facilitators a new piece of Forum Theatre is performed to a group of TY Students to explore and workshop the challenges that young people face.
The Challenges of Being My Best Self is unique in style as the actors and audience work together to tell the story. The audience can stop the story and ask the actors to have the characters approach the challenges they face in different ways.
As this is a pilot workshop we are delighted to be offering FREE entry to 2.5hrs sessions for TY students to enjoy learning through live theatre experience, sharing ideas and offering solutions.
It is hoped that participants who actively engage in the workshop will identify options for developing their interpersonal skills.
We are very excited to present The Challenges of Being My Best Self and gain feedback from the young people.
There are 160 TY Students attending these events representing 15 secondary schools at The Civic.

Who Are Real Learning ?
Since its foundation in 2008, Real Learning has partnered with Ireland’s premier business schools (e.g. TCD Business School, DCU Business School, UCC Business School) and corporate clients (e.g. Bank of Ireland, Paddy Power, Kerry Group, Enterprise Ireland, A&L Goodbody) to enhance the impact of their learning programmes by incorporating theatre-based skills, techniques, tools and practices into the learning process. Feedback continuously supports Real Learning’s approach as being an effective, innovative, memorable and enjoyable teaching methodology.
Real Learning is now broadening its offering by devising programmes which, using theatre-based processes, provide valuable learning experiences for 2nd Level students and, within that context, we are excited to partner with The Civic to bring that opportunity to students in South County Dublin.
