We caught up with Giant Wolf – The Civic’s Youth Theatre in Residence. Read more in our blog here:
The last few months here at Giant Wolf we have been busy, and we’re hard at work with plenty to come! This term, our weekly workshops we have focused on ensemble basics with our younger group and exploring scripted works with our older groups. This is in preparation of our summer show in the Civic Theatre this August 26th. Our members have been chronicling their experiences over at “Weekly Howls” on our website.
Outside of our weekly workshops, we have been hard at work preparing for some events.
The first event was Cruinniú na nÓg workshop on Saturday 10th Jun where our facilitators presented introductory youth theatre workshops for kids aged 5-12 and 12+.Our youngest group has started preparing to perform in the Moat Theatre this July 21st. They will perform their original, devised show “Starboard” which premiered in April this year in the Civic Theatre and later performed in Naas as part of the Drama House Theatre Festival. We’re looking forward to seeing it again and with new additions!
Lastly, we‘re excited for our involvement with Youth Theatre Ireland’s National Festival of Youth Theatres this year in Kilkenny. We will be taking eight of our amazing members to participate in workshops and engage fully in the arts and make some brand new friends.
How exciting!! Thanks for the update.
