Free series of Drama workshops as part of part of Cruinniu na nÓg 2019.
Are you interested in theatre? Do you want to try something new? Would you like to perform? Make new friends and have fun? Then this could be the perfect project for you!! Please complete the application form below asap!
Local theatre company Freshly Ground invite 30 young people (age 4-17) to create and perform with them! Through a series of FREE weekly workshops in Tallaght, participants will be introduced to the world of theatre through acting, mime, script writing, drama games, devising and more! Participants will also work collaboratively with our artists each week to make a short original piece of theatre around the theme of “home”. This will be showcased in The Studio Theatre at The Civic on June 15th as part of Cruinniu na nÓg 2019.
The dates and times of the project are as follows:
Time slots for workshops: 11am-12:30pm (age 4-7) 1pm-3pm (age 8-12) 3:30pm-5:30pm (age 13-17)
Dates for workshops: April 27th, May 4th, May 11th, May 18th, May 25th, June 1st, June 8th
Additional dates: 14th June 4-6pm – dress rehearsal
15th June (show day) – 12-4pm
Important info for parents/guardians, please read carefully:
Participants must be available to attend ALL workshops and showcase on June 15th
The deadline for completed applications is Wednesday the 17th of April and they will be processed on a first come, first served basis.
Number of places: Places are very limited. While we wish we could take everyone that applies, there are only 30 places for this project!
Venue: Workshops will take place in Tessa House, Cookstown Way, Tallaght.
Showcase: There will be two performances in The Civic Theatre Tallaght on June 15th, at 1pm and 3pm. This event is free of cost, but tickets must be booked in advance.
Day/Time: Workshops will take place weekly on SATURDAY mornings and afternoons. Each session will be 2 hours.
Cost: There is no cost to participate in this project. All workshops are completely free of charge.
Rehearsals: These will take place during Saturday workshops
Age: Participants will be divided into groups and attend workshops within their own age range. This is so we can design workshops to suit the abilities and interests of participants accordingly
Experience in drama and theatre is not necessary to attend these workshops. However it is important that participants are enthusiastic, willing to get involved in activities and ideally have an interest in theatre and performing!
These workshops will be facilitated by artists within our company.
