Following its sell-out theatre debut Jive Talkin’ - The Bee Gees Song Book is back!
The Bee Gees were brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. From singing close harmony as children they grew to become world superstars by their early twenties. They got to a point where they broke up and could no longer speak to each other, only to reform and reinvent disco music in the form of ‘Saturday Night Fever’. The Bee Gees are now acknowledged among the greatest song writers in history.
Jive Talkin’ present a tribute to the Bee Gees through their catalogue of hits over 4 decades from the 60s to the 90s. A blend of classic hits, acoustic medleys and dance floor fillers define the show, with full live international band and guest artist(s) appearing as some of the musical legends that the Gibb brothers wrote for.
The show prides itself on musical, in particular vocal authenticity, while the accompanying costume changes compliment the show to give audiences a truly original feeling. REMIND ME ABOUT THIS SHOW
In this hilarious play based on the best-seller of the same name, Kathleen Doyle introduces us to her remarkable family and their exploits growing up in Dublin in the 1950s and 1960s. Kathleen describes Ma as an ordinary woman with very little education behind her. But maybe not so ordinary in the way she learned to survive and handle life.
She was the backbone, the one who kept them together as a family, just about keeping their heads above water. But through all the poverty, Kathleen and her brothers and sisters had a laugh turning their kitchen into a swimming pool on a hot summers day, or trying to hide a stolen pig in the bath. What Would Ma Say is a nostalgic and poignant reminder of a Dublin that's long gone.
Contains some strong language.

REMIND ME ABOUT THIS SHOW
On the night of September 29, 2008, the Taoiseach and Minister for Finance decided to guarantee Ireland’s banks – to the tune of €440 billion. Guaranteed! tells the story of that night, and how they got there. Written by journalist and documentary-maker Colin Murphy, and based on official documents and off-the-record interviews, Guaranteed! reconstructs Ireland’s banking boom and bust – as it was seen from inside the corridors of power. An ensemble of actors plays a myriad of ministers, bankers and bureaucrats as they wrestle with the unfolding crisis. You will come away informed, enraged and perhaps a little heart-broken. We have stripped back our assets for a recession-friendly, bare-bones presentation where we will hold on to our scripts, while you can hold on to your wallets.

Ballet Ireland presents
REMIND ME ABOUT THIS SUMMER SCHOOL
Monday 15th July to Friday 19th July
Once again, Ballet Ireland embarks on the ever popular and award-winning summer school, now in its thirteenth year. As ever, each week will be filled to the brim with ideas, laughter and creativity, with workshops full of dance, music and mime, and copious quantities of joy and inspiration. This year we are going to centre our show on the story of “The Bluebird and Princess Florine”; participants will explore aspects of the tale and decide how these can best be expressed and translated into performance.
Two of the best-loved characters featured in Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet, The Sleeping Beauty, the Princess and her Bluebird dance at Aurora’s wedding. Before they were invited though, they had undergone several adventures of their own. Florine had a wicked stepmother and an ugly stepsister. When the rich and handsome Prince Charming falls for Florine rather than the stepsister, the enraged stepmother locks the Princess in a room at the palace, and commands the Prince to marry her daughter. When he refuses, she asks a wicked fairy to change him into a bluebird. He flies to Florine’s window and sings of his love for her. Eventually a fairy-godmother comes to their rescue, and with the help of four magic eggs, happiness is restored.
Participation in the summer school programme is open to all, from age six and upward, boys and girls, dancers young and old, experienced or first-timers. Emphasis throughout the week is firmly based in performance techniques, style, confidence and self-expression. None taking part will ever forget the experience. Every individual will have an input into how we can make the story of the Princess and her little bird into a ballet and all will take part in the performance at the end of the course, fully lit and dressed and presented for family and friends.
During each summer school week, participants are divided into working groups appropriate to age; 6-8yrs, 9-11yrs and those aged 12 and over. Each week is unique to those individuals taking part and dancers experienced and inexperienced alike can expect exciting challenges and exhilarating goals. Working and performing in close proximity with professional ballet dancers from Ballet Ireland’s core company, students will expand their own skills and techniques and further develop confidence in expression and performance.
The summer school programme is enormously successful, a highlight of the season on many theatres’ calendars; many students return year after year. At each venue the number of students attending is strictly limited and available places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Early booking is definitely advisable.
